If you check out the NEW TEEN books, you’ll see that we have copies of the Hunger Games Trilogy, Shatter Me, and other new and hard to find teen titles. You can check these books out for 7 days, but judging from how fast I reading Catching Fire and Mockingjay, you won’t need that much time.

I am pleased to bring you a message from our local VFW Post!
The VFW’s scholarship programs the Voice of Democracy and the Patriots Pen had a BIG Chelsea winners in 2011: Erinjen Lin and Karana Wickens!
The VOD winner here from Chelsea High School is Erinjen Lin. She also placed 2nd in our District out of entries from 27 Post. She will be honored and recognized on February 4th at the VFW District 6 meeting in Brighton, Mi. Congratulations to Erinjen Lin!!
In the Patriots Pen, Karana Wickens 8th grade was our winner here in Chelsea. Karana also placed 1st in the district. Her entry was forwarded for the state competition to compete amongst the 422 VFW Post throughout the State. Karana is in the top 5 in the state and will be a guest of the VFW 6th District in Kalamazoo for the Mid-winter conference the 27th, 28th, and 29th, of January. Here on Saturday night at the formal dinner the winner of the Patriots Pen for the State of Michigan will be announced. Karana has a very good chance of being that winner. She will also be honored and recognied at the VFW meeting in Brighton in February.
Here at the Chelsea Post we have already honored and recognized our winners. If you see them in your class or the hallways please congratulate them! VOD winners, 1st-Erinjen Lin, Chelsea 2nd- Randall Mills, Dexter, 3rd- Zachary Byron, Dexter. Patriots Pen Winners, 1st-Karana Wickens, Chelsea, 2nd- Nicholas Parros, Dexter.

Magic: The Gathering Weekly Gaming Night is a regularly scheduled card game event organized by teens and overseen by an adult volunteer. Magic is a strategy game that builds social, mathematic, reading, and problem solving skills. The event is open to players ages 12 and older at all levels of experience. Players must own a starter deck of Magic: The Gathering cards, available at any place where collectible card games are sold. Restricted cards will not be allowed in game play.
