Tuesday, May 29 Medical Marijuana: The Law and Enforcement | 6:30-8:30pm | McKune | Adult | Drop-In
What should people and municipalities do to follow the law correctly? What types of infractions are police seeing? What crimes are being prosecuted? Our panel of experts will explain. Our moderator for the evening is Dr. Randall Forsch, MD. Dr. Forsch is Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Michigan, and Service Chief at Chelsea Community Hospital’s Inpatient Service.
Panelists:
Brian L. Mackie is the prosecuting attorney for Washtenaw County, responsible for all felonies and misdemeanors charged under state law. He has experience with cases relating to marijuana trafficking and usage in Michigan.
Daniel W. Grow is a criminal defense attorney with Targowski & Grow, PLLC, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. His firm specializes in matters relating to medical marihuana, and in addition to criminal matters, Mr. Grow also specializes in litigation with municipalities relating to the denial of caregiver and patients’ rights.
Rae Ramsdell is Licensing Manager at the Bureau of Health Professions at the Department of Community Health in the state of Michigan. She was instrumental in the implementation of the Medical Marijuana Law
Presentations will be followed by a question and answer session.

Looking for an inventive volunteer opportunity? Sign up for the Youth Service Group, a crew of teens going into grades 7 and up that make youth and teen programs run smoothly all summer long. TEEN PROGRAMS
Mondays Magic: The Gathering Weekly Gaming Night | 5:00-7:30pm | KidSpot | Drop-In | Ages 12 and up
NEW: Yu-Gi-Oh card gamers welcome! This weekly card game event is organized by teens and overseen by an adult volunteer. Magic is a strategy game that builds social, mathematic, reading, and problem solving skills. The event is open to players ages 13 and older at all levels of experience. Players must own a starter deck of Magic: The Gathering cards, available at any place where collectible card games are sold. Restricted cards will not be allowed in game play.
Tuesdays & Thursdays Dungeons & Dragons Weekly Gaming Night | 3:30-7:30pm | KidSpot | Drop-In | Ages 12 and up
Dungeons and Dragons isn’t just fun, it’s challenging! Build your character, solve puzzles, battle monsters and find treasure. New and experienced gamers are welcome! Most Tuesdays and Thursdays, see online calendar for exceptions.
June 29 Moonlit Mayhem at Cedar Lake! | 8:00-11:00pm | Cedar Lake Outdoor Center | Registration | Ages 12 – 18
Are you ready to compete and survive in a mad midnight battle of wits and will? Tried your hand and starting fires, shooting arrows or tracking your enemies? Get out your dark clothing, bandannas and bug spray, and we’ll provide the face paint. Experts and Cedar Lake Outdoor Center will divide you into teams, train you in the art of wilderness survival and then set you loose in an all out Capture the Flag war in the pitch black the forest, with only the light of glow sticks to guide you. Registration is limited to sign up early!

Dungeons and Dragons and Magic: The Gathering meet at Cedar Lake Outdoor camp for an evening of gaming by the fire in the historic Cedar Lake Camp Lodge. Bring your dice, bring your decks, and enjoy a late night gaming experience you can’t find anywhere else! If you would like pizza, please bring money to pitch in. Please indicate what gaming you plan to do when you register online.
July 27 Youth Service Group Bowling Party | 6:00-8:00pm | Chelsea Lanes | Registration | Youth Service Group members only
Did you volunteer this year at the Chelsea District Library? Sign up for a special “Thank you” party at Chelsea Lanes! We’ll be serving pizza and pop, and you can bowl three games or just hang out with friends. Special service awards will be handed out, and you might win a door prize!
