Calling All Young Filmmakers!

Filed under: Summer Fun, movies — Teen Blog @ 10:48 am

The-Michigan-TheaterThe Michigan Theater has a program for young filmmakers, between 5th and 12th grade, this summer.

Intro to Filmmaking
(Suggested for 5th-8th graders)
For the kids who dream of making movies, this is an opportunity to learn the basics of the filmmaking process by collaboratively producing, directing and editing short films. We will provide digital camcorders and computers with professional editing software. Participants just need to bring creativity and a willingness to collaborate!

Intermediate Filmmaking
(Suggested for 9th-12th graders)
This one week film camp moves beyond the basics, allowing campers to learn the three necessary components of creating a film. Campers will learn the importance of working together to produce a polished and complete film. They will go through the steps of pre-production, shooting, and finally editing the film into a completed piece. Scripts will be supplied for these productions, however, interested campers can submit a simple 3-10 page script for consideration to be used during camp.

For more information check out the website.
